RATIONALE:

The Philippine government through its arm, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), has put into place critical reforms to improve the competitiveness of Filipino workers and industries amid intensifying global competition. The reforms have made technical vocational education and training (TVET) the cornerstone of the country’s drive to strengthen employability, lessen workers’ vulnerabilities, and push back poverty.

Under its skills development plan, the TESDA has given emphasis to a manpower development strategy that would ensure the needed skills – one of which is on architectural drafting.
A program devoted to architectural design technology, therefore, is considered necessary to address the need for competent and skilled draftsmen and CAD operators.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Associate Degree in Architectural Design Technology is a 2-year ladderized curriculum. The Certificate in Architectural Design Technology, given after successful completion of the first two (2) trimesters, exposes students to the fundamentals of architecture and traditional drafting. The next two (2) trimesters incorporates leading edge technology of computer-aided drafting (AutoCad). Upon successful completion, a Diploma in Architectural Design Technology is given. Earning the Associate Degree in Architectural Design Technology qualifies students to fill many diverse positions in the industry or transfer to a baccalaureate or professional degree programs
