ACLC Davao Recognition Day

February 1, 2010 marked the day ACLC Davao held its Recognition Day at San Felix Bldg., MacArthur Highway, Matina here in the city. The aim of the said event is to recognize the commendable effort of the students in both academics and student service. It has been an annual event where students are awarded with certificates accompanied by their parents/guardians.

With Ms. Mary Jane V. Dalagan, the OIC/School Director as the opening remarks, the students and their parents were inspired as Ms. Liezel Salera, one of the faculty members, delivered her speech as the whole ceremony ended. Moreover, the awardees themselves also showcased their talents in singing during the event. Truly, it was a day of showing what the ACLC is truly made up of.

ACLC Davao Outreach Program: Making a Difference

The call to donate canned goods, used clothing, noodles, and what not created an overwhelming response from the students of the AMA Computer Learning Center Davao. The aim of the said program is to reach out to the unfortunate students of the NRDP Elementary School located at Brgy. Sirawan Toril, here in Davao. The said event happened last January 4, 2010 where those goods were distributed by their own teachers.

The said school became a target of the outreach program since most of the students are very much in need. Four classrooms have to cater the learners in their daily learning not to mention they have a population of around 150 students. This particular scenario alone encouraged us to pursue the program.

Indeed, it was an awe-inspiring opportunity to reach out to those people and give anything that we can – and this is what we call making a difference.

ACLC Davao Team Building and Christmas Party: The Talicud Island Get-away

Along with its thrust to develop camaraderie and unity among the faculty and staff, ACLC Davao held its team building activity as well as Christmas party at Le Grande Beach Farm, Talicud Island last December 29-30, 2010.

The group was divided into three teams, namely: Holiday Chipmunks, Santa’s Reindeers, and the Wise Camels. Each team had to showcase a dance number and a Christmas Carol to bag the prize. Everyone painted a smile on their faces during the exchanging of gifts, as the highlight of the event, not to mention different fun games made the whole experience a remarkable one. We all had a great time with each other fleetingly forgetting all the pressure of those busy and usual days in the office.

Indeed, everyone is looking forward for the same event to happen again. Needless to say, it was an experience of a lifetime.
